Capital of Scotland, Edinburgh has lots to offer from fancy restaurants to high street stores there is countless opportunities awaiting. One of the main reasons I travelled to Edinburgh was to spend the weekend with one of my friends who was living over there for university which also saved me money on accommodation as I stayed with her meaning I only had to pay for flights which was super handy and cheap!

Top Restaurants in Edinburgh?

1.     Papii Edinburgh -Based in the new town 0.4 miles from Royal Mile Papii has an extensive menu for breakfast time from waffles to eggs benedict you couldn’t go wrong, it’s amazing quality for their price points also so you couldn’t go wrong! Id recommend going early though as it gets busy fast!

2.     Tattu Edinburgh –  Ideal for lunch Tattu is the fanciest Chinese ever with the most amazing cocktails, covered in flower walls its perfect for photo opportunities also, its located in the centre of Edinburgh so ideal after a day of shopping but I’d recommend pre-booking, this option allows you to book lunch deals at a cheaper rate also!

3.     Miller and Carter– Perfect for dinner and cocktails and located just 0.3 miles from Edinburgh castle this steakhouse is not to be missed out on while visiting the city with its wide variety of options you will find something to suit everyone. Known for the best steak ever id highly recommend, but do book ahead as its always so busy. They also cater for Vegetarians and offer gluten-free options!

Things to do In Edinburgh?

1.     Shop – Edinburgh has loads of household name stores available in the city centre which isn’t ideal with a hand luggage case but always worth it.
2.     Drink – Edinburgh is known for its cute and quirky pubs and is ideal for a daytime pub crawl as if you’re staying outside of the centre you can just jump on the tram! Nightlife in Edinburgh is also not to be missed they have loads of nightclubs available to suit all different types of people! (Definitely wrap up warm tho as its always absolutely freezing!)
3.     Edinburgh Zoo – An unforgettable day out with family or friends where you can visit the UK’s only giant panda’s and take in all that Scotland has to offer, id recommend pre-booking to save the queueing times and usually there is a discount.
